Rise lantern festival8/30/2023 ![]() So, thank you Asia Highlights, Cathy, Tip and tour guides Tanny, Sam and Lisa. I think we would have struggled to resolve the problem by ourselves. The floating houses, railway market and elephant sanctuary were particular favourites.We had one minor glitch with the accommodation in Phuket which was immediately dealt with by Tip. Transport was always ready for us at the agreed time and the drivers were excellent.There were so many highlights enjoyed by all the age groups. Our trip to Thailand comprised three generations of the family, ten people and an age range of 4 to 70 so a potentially difficult brief.Our itinerary over two weeks involved four locations, and a number of different trips and tours.From out arrival at an extremely busy Bangkok airport Asia Highlights were terrific.In each location we were met by a smiling, knowledgeable and professional guide who simply made everything easy and stress free for everyone.Our transportation was clean and comfortable. I highly recommend Asian Highlights to help plan these extraordinary trips! This already has been a trip of a lifetime and we still have so much more to see all thanks to Cathy!! More The scenery was breathtaking, the ship was so beautiful and clean with such fresh, good food! And I can’t sing enough praise for the staff who took care of us- especially Anna and Belle! They went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed every aspect from eating meals with Anna to every other detail with Belle! Halong Bay and the cruise on Paradise Elegance went way above anything I expected. He was so funny making lots of jokes and always made sure we were having fun while learning about everything! He checked on us frequently even when we were no longer with him since we then went on a cruise in Halong Bay! Our first stop so far was in Hanoi where our guide Trong was just so awesome! He shared about his culture and family life which showing us sites through a city tour. Chiang Mai is the only place where you can see both Thailand's lantern festivals on the same day.Loy Krathong Festival is celebrated nationwide while Yi Peng is only celebrated in northern Thailand, especially in Chiang Mai.In 2023, Loy Krathong will take place on November 28 and Yi Peng will take place on November 27–28.
